Goodbye Fall Season

This Fall season just flew by. Recesstime Sports had their End of Season party at Hawthorne Theatre for the first time, Keen throws down the annual company party, and a little known nature reserve is explored.

I've been part of Recesstime Sport's crew for almost 4 years now. This group has helped support many outside gigs including KEEN Footwear. Check out how this staff enjoys the Fall season. If you're a KEEN member you can also order prints online here if I happened to capture your mug shot.

Right around the corner of Portland is many great places to see nature and it's many features. Here in West Linn we explored an area made famous by a bear sighting that didn't actually happen. Otherwise this location is kept on the down low and we hope to keep traffic down to preserve it's integrity. Mirabella, Monique and I get out this brisk day to see what it's all about. We walked into a gentleman, Fred, who helps with 16 others maintain this beautiful area.

Roost is the name of a modern built restaurant constructed by White Dog. This location features fantastic wood accents, wine racks and a kitchen with a large sliding door. You can hang your hipster jacket anywhere along the giant artwork that stretches almost the entire east wall. You can find Roost on Belmont & 14th Ave.

Behind; but back again with more pics!

I took a bit of an absences for several months. After wrapping up work to start summer and just returning from Spain I have a great deal to share. Before I dive into Spain pictures because I'm not ready to share I had a great adventure up Beacon Rock with the family. This criss cross hike and awesome looking rock climbing location will be returned to very soon. At the beginning you quickly find out why people rock climb this area. With it's steep incline you can catch easy and difficult spots to navigate. The hike is rather easy and we saw tons of kids. At the top we we're rewarded with a great view of Columbia. Remember to click the picture to take you to a gallery of photos.

We made a visit to Wisconsin, Tracy's home town, I especially enjoyed the art gallery on the water. Designed to mimic a ships sails. Awesome.

Before our trip to Spain we went to our friends Susie & Lauren's wedding. I snapped a few shots of family, friends and fire eating. You know, the usual things at weddings.

Speaking of Fire; Corinne's Birthday was a blast and hot.

You'll have to be patient for the Spain pictures but until then I've been hosting a gallery for my daughter Mirabella. You'll see new photos here every once in awhile. Be sure to come back to this gallery often.

Thanks for letting me share all my adventures I hope you enjoy the photos. If you want copies of any of these pictures please e-mail me or use the BUY feature to purchase prints etc.

Published On the Portland Mercury

Recesstime has helped me put my photographs on the cover of the Mercury this week! Officially my first time on the cover of a media publication in Portland. I've been working for Recesstime for over three years now. Other than the main photo man I also host several of the leagues. My official title, Sports Coordinator & Photographer, was created after many other titles didn't meet the description of all my responsibilities. Today you can find over 6000 photos of my work for Recesstime. Check it all out at www.recesstimesports.com

Our friends Christa & Neven celebrate with friends the coming of a new life! Tracy and Christa's due dates are close to each other. We are looking forward to our girls, Olive and Mirabella, to spend time together.

MLK Weekend

This weekend we took an adventure up to Wildwood Park in Welches OR. Despite the flooding and mass amount of rain fall we hiked around getting soaking wet. I bought a polarized filter by Rocketfish for my camera to play with. Dealing with rain can be difficult if you don't bring the right covers. I used a storm jacket cover for my camera to keep the weather away but that still doesn't stop the rain from dropping onto the lens. I recommend using a hood for extra protection. I wanted to stay light this trip but it probably would have helped to also bring a tripod :P

Before our adventure to Welches our friend Jaime & Eric celebrated the baby to arrive. Camrick Clark shot most of these pictures. It was awesome to get back together with friends and visit.

Winter Break

So much has happened this break. Tracy and I went to Montana to visit the family for Christmas. We were hoping for a snow storm but didn't get one. The snow we had was awesome. Cross country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing and kite flying were just a few of our activities. On December 27th top of the river waterfall that feeds Lake McDonald I asked Tracy to marry me and she said, "Of Course."

After Christmas we returned to Portland and celebrated New Years with all of our friends. We jumped into a pizza party at the house creating some tasty delights. A few of us went to the Norse Hall to dance the New Years on. They had hundreds of dancers and we did everything from Waltz to Blues. We ran to the Boiler Room at the Kennedy School before bar time to meet with friends again where they seemed to be not finished counting down. I think we counted down two or three more times between yelling a song I didn't know.

I wish everyone a Happy New Years. Good luck to all your ventures!
